Lies and Untruths

In a quest to right wrongs created by environmental extremists in my own home town I keep running into lies and untruths all across the globe, told by extremists to scare the bejeezus out of people. This blog is a repository for debunking some of those extremist lies..... should I be kind and call them misformations of the truth?

A Well-Funded Environut...

.. Brian McKenna, recently produced an extended dissertaion that is currently being circulated among assorted extremist organizations. The premise is in the title, Dow Chemical Buys Silence in Michigan. McKenna would have you believe the whole State of Michigan is being run by a chemical company! How ludicrous!

He begins with a story - real or not I don't know - about an anti-terrost drill in New Jersey. He then goes on to tell about a 'filmmaker' riding up and down the streets of Midland, MI in the back of a pickup truck taking pictures of the Dow Chemical Company. He's pulled over by Midland police, a sheriff's deputy and Dow security. Why not!!????! In this time of need for homeland security, some nutcase riding around with something aimed at the Dow plant could very well have been a terrorist! Good heavens, it IS a chemical facility after all!

Although he says they took his picture and let him go, I would hope he was at least ticketed. After all, isn't it illegal to carry passengers in the back of pickup trucks? I know it's illegal to carry dogs back there.

Anyhow, with all the crap McKenna blathered on about, it's still incredible to think a chemical company would be 'running' the state of Michigan. I tell you for sure if they were,
  • MDEQ (Michigan Dept. of Environmental Quality) would use real science in their evaluations of residual dioxin in the Tittabawassee River floodplain!
  • Jenny Granholm's honchos would not be trying to drive Dow out of business with their continual harrassment techniques.
  • Environmental extremist wackos would not be running rampant, giving directions to MDEQ in Lansing.
Don't believe me? Go over to the Tittabawassee River Voice blog and read the facts.
